I wanted to take a moment to let you in on why I started this page, and how it came to be what it is today.
How it all started
The earliest memory I have of ever playing a video game goes back a long way. I was about 4 or 5 years old. I remember my dad bought my siblings and I our first ever console (circa the early 1990s): the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. A lot of fellow old school heads, like myself, will have some very fond memories of the SNES. The first game I ever played on it was Super Mario All-Stars. And of course, Super Mario World as well. I was one happy kid!
As I got older, my fascination with video games grew. By about 7 or 8, I had already played other games like Donkey Kong, Zelda, Earthworm Jim (one of my favorites), just about any game I could get a hold of. Mostly thanks to my older brother. He worked at a local thrift store at the time, and any time he found something in the donation pile he thought I might like playing, he’d bring it home. This is how I got a hold of many systems and games in later years.
At one point, I owned several consoles – the N64, a Sega Genesis, a Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, etc. and plenty of games for all of them! It’s safe to say, I spent a good chunk of my childhood and teen years very into video games. Eventually however, I ended up selling my whole collection (out of necessity). But nonetheless, my interest in gaming never really went away. I spent a few years as an adult without playing any video games at all.
Recently, I reignited my passion for gaming. I went and got an Xbox Series S as a birthday gift to myself. And let me tell you, I didn’t know how much I missed playing video games! It’s been quite fun, and so here we are now. This is where my interest in gaming led me – to share this passion with the rest of the world.
Helping people connect through gaming
I love video games, plain and simple. And, so do millions of people around the world. Helping others connect and finding something in common is why I love doing this. Everyone has a favorite game, console, or a particular genre they enjoy playing. Some like to dive in to different categories and explore the video game world. I, myself, am one of those people.
There is always something for everyone. As far as actual games go, anyway. There’s so much more to it, like finding an awesome controller you prefer using, or coming across a killer bundle deal on a console…or maybe you just need the right gaming chair. Who knows! But one thing I do know, is that I want to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. X Gamers Elite is here for all of that, and more!
